Here’s a photo of my most recent painting, Paradise. It is currently on display at J. & Co. Frameshop, but it will also be featured in my upcoming Lawrence show in the Library’s Gallery. I’ve been putting in a lot of hours at jhP lately, so I haven’t spent as much time in the studio as I would like. But I plan on making up for it this weekend! I am starting to work on paintings for my next show at the Lawrence Library in August. I hope to have 5 new pieces ready, but I’ve got a couple of commission pieces that I need to fit in there . . . so we’ll see!
I have several charitable events coming up in the next 2 months - "Works of Heart" for the Family Service and Guidance Center, "The Grape Escape" for the Topeka Performing Arts Center, and the second annual Boots & Bling at the Kansas State Fair to benefit the House of Capper. I’ll post more about each event as they get closer.
After a two-week hiatus, I have started painting again. It’s nice to set at my art table and let my imagination flow - it’s very calming. I’ve got so many things that I want to paint right now . . . I’m really looking forward to the holiday weekend!
I am working on an ocean landscape right now. It’s going to look great over my couch - even if it’s only up for awhile.
